The D-backs Baseball Academy, presented by Phoenix Children's Hospital with participating sponsor United Healthcare, is the official year-round baseball and fast-pitch softball instruction division of the Arizona Diamondbacks. A variety of camps and clinics are offered throughout the calendar year, hosted at facilities such as Chase Field, Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, Phoenix Children's Hospital as well as local parks throughout the Greater Phoenix area.
The D-backs Baseball Academy, now in its 15th season, has taught thousands of kids to "Learn to Play the D-backs' Way!"
To ensure quality instruction, enrollment is limited to a 1:10 ratio of instructor-to-student. In fact, you will often see smaller group sizes to provide the best possible learning environment.
Each camp day and session is highly choreographed to maximize participation and activity time. Our instructors are handpicked by the organization from a group of former professional players, as well as the best local collegiate and high school coaches. Fast-pitch softball camps are instructed by collegiate fast-pitch standouts.
Ever dream of making it to the Big Leagues? Imagine getting drafted, signing a contract, and reporting to Spring Training as the newest member of the Arizona Diamondbacks. Imagine walking into the locker room and seeing your name on your uniform hanging in your locker. Imagine spending a week among such stars as Reggie Sanders, Steve Finley, Luis Gonzalez, Joe Garagiola Sr., and many more. Imagine the stories you'll hear and memories you'll make.

The goals of our team programs are to develop players on and off the field, educate them as to the process of being recruited/scouted and encourage them to be leaders in their school community. Our focus will be on the access to our organizational resources, education and development in a competitive environment. We play baseball the "D-backs Way," with an aggressive style on the field, and with a professional approach to the game. Our offseason training programs allow for personalized development under the watchful eyes of our Player Development staff.
The Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation and D-backs Baseball Academy recognized outstanding youth players, coaches, and dedicated team volunteers in the community on a monthly basis during the 2014 D-backs season. One youth player, one youth coach, and one sports team volunteer was selected from submitted nominations. The nominations were for both baseball and softball players, coaches, and volunteers, and included a brief description of why the player, coach, or volunteer was deserving of the recognition.
Nominations are no longer being accepted for the 2014 season. Please check back in February 2015 for more information about this program.
D-backs Baseball Academy Coach Training gives coaches and parents the opportunity to learn techniques to teach youth the fundamentals of baseball. Content covered includes team administration, D-backs coaching philosophy, practice, organization/management, game management/strategy and an overview of the basic fundamentals.
