Tigers 2005 Spring Training schedule announced

DETROIT -- The Detroit Tigers today announced the club's exhibition game schedule for its 2005 spring camp in Lakeland, FL.

Next spring will mark the Tigers 69th season at "Tiger Town" in Lakeland, extending the longest-lasting relationship between a major league baseball team and a current Spring Training host city. The 2005 spring season also marks the club's 39th consecutive season of exhibition play at Joker Marchant Stadium.

The Tigers will kick off the exhibition schedule on Wednesday, March 2 when the club battles Lakeland's Florida Southern College at 1:05 p.m. at Joker Marchant Stadium.

The Tigers will play 17 Grapefruit League games at Joker Marchant Stadium during the 2005 exhibition season. Highlights of the home schedule include three visits from the American League East Division Champion New York Yankees on March 5, March 11 and April 1 and a visit from the National League Champion St. Louis Cardinals on March 20. Additional highlights include a visit from the newly-relocated Washington Nationals on March 7 as well as three visits from the National League Central Division Champion Houston Astros on March 21, March 25 and March 28.

Season ticket packages for the Tigers Spring Training exhibition season are on sale now at the Joker Marchant Stadium ticket office or can be ordered by mail at: Detroit Tigers, Attn: Ticket Office, 2125 N. Lake Ave., Lakeland, FL 33805. Individual game tickets will be on sale beginning Saturday, January 8, and can be ordered by visiting, visiting the ticket office at Joker Marchant Stadium, visiting a Ticketmaster outlet, or by phoning

Prices for the various seating levels at Joker Marchant Stadium remain the same and are as follows: $16 for field box seats, $15 for regular box seats, $13 for reserved seats, $13 for wheelchair accessible seats, $12 for left field reserved seats, $9 for general admission and $7 for berm seating.
