Tigers Wives Hit a Home Run with Children's Baseball Book

The Tigers Wives have written "The ABCs of Detroit Tigers Baseball," a children's book that covers the game of baseball from A to Z.

The 29-page, hardcover book, features colorful illustrations that define Tigers baseball from A to Z and includes the Spanish-language translation of each English term. In addition, each page includes a related 'Tiger Tidbit' such as historical records, fun facts or player records teaching fans of all ages of the storied Tigers franchise.

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the book benefits the Detroit Tigers Foundation, the official charity of the Detroit Tigers.

Detroit Tigers Foundation Auctions & Sales

From "hit & run" or "seventh inning stretch" to "vanilla chai frappuccino" and "caramel macchiato," Detroit Tigers outfielder Magglio Ordoñez and wife Dagly took on a new role Friday, July 25 as they went to work serving customers at Starbucks in Bloomfield Hills. In an event benefiting the Detroit Tigers Foundation, fans poured into the store, with over 1,000 customers stopping by to get their favorite beverage and meet the outfielder-turned-Barista. The event, which also featured Tigers mascot Paws, was part of a partnership between the Detroit Tigers Foundation and Starbucks Coffee Company in which money is raised to support baseball and softball field renovations in the greater Detroit community. Thanks to the generous support of Starbucks and the hard work of the Tigers Baristas, over $10,000 was raised through the event to support the charitable efforts of the Detroit Tigers Foundation.
