Bring 'Em Home Safe

Murray's Discount Auto Stores and the Detroit Tigers are partners in an effort to provide free car safety seats to the children of needy families in Detroit. Murray's parent company, CSK Auto Inc., operator of nearly 1,300 retail auto parts stores in 22 states under the brand names Checker Auto Parts, Schuck's Auto Supply, Kragen Auto Parts, and Murray's Discount Auto Stores, began this program, called "Bring 'Em Home Safe," several years ago in Arizona, and has gradually expanded it to include 11 different Major League Baseball teams, all based in cities where the company does business. To date, the program has distributed over 3,800 car seats to children in need.

Here's how it works in Detroit: Every time a Tigers player hits a home run, Murray's adds the cost of another children's car seat to the amount they will donate to a local charity serving the Detroit area. At season's end, Murray's representatives will present a check for the final total at a brief pre-game ceremony in the ball park. The charity will then supervise distribution of the car seats to qualified families with small children.

How can you help? Cheer for those Tiger sluggers, and help Murray's "Bring 'Em Home Safe!"
