Pledge Your Allegiance
From an early age, we all learn the importance of a pledge. Whether it is to your country or to another person, pledging is something that is held in very high regard. The concept of pledging is at the center of this year’s MLB All-Star Game campaign.
Superstars from the American League and National League will battle it out under the lights at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City on Tuesday, July 10th. The winning side earns league bragging rights and home field advantage for the World Series. This reality has infused a new level of camaraderie amongst the players in each league, and the ramifications of the game hold a certain level of irony. Just last season, a Prince Fielder (NL-Brewers) HR off of CJ Wilson (AL-Rangers) ended up giving the Cardinals home field advantage against the Rangers in the 2011 World Series. Let’s just say that worked out well for the Redbirds!
As with every season, baseball fans pick sides in the Midsummer Classic, but we want you to go even further! MLB wants you to pledge your allegiance to the #AL or #NL.
