Greater Kansas City Day

25th Annual Greater Kansas City Day

2013 Update:

Thanks for helping make Greater Kansas City Day a huge success! More than $100,000 was raised for Rotary Club Youth Camp as well as other area children's charities on the morning of Royals Opening Day. Honorary co-chairs John Mayberry and Dr. Charles Wheeler, along with local sports celebrities, joined more than 1,300 volunteers to sell special editions of the Kansas City Star newspaper. Thank you to the many volunteers, local businesses, media and Kansas Citians who recorded a win for kids in our community.

On Monday, April 8, the morning of the Royals Opening Day, more than 1,500 Rotary volunteers — along with many local celebrities — are stationed throughout the metropolitan area selling Greater Kansas City Day souvenir editions of The Kansas City Star. All proceeds from the sale of the Greater Kansas City Day souvenir edition of The Kansas City Star go to the Rotary Youth Camp and other area youth charities.
