2017 Seattle Mariners Job Fair

"Who says you can't combine WORK and PLAY?!"

Applications for the 2017 Seattle Mariners Day of Game Staff are now being accepted! The Seattle Mariners will be interviewing qualified and motivated individuals for a variety of seasonal positions January 31 through February 2 at Safeco Field. To apply, please complete the following online application by January 6, 2017.

Job Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a customer-driven environment preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be available to work 60 games including evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Must be willing to take a mandatory drug test.

Application Closing Date:

  • January 6, 2017

Interview Dates:

  • If selected, you will be contacted between January 24-26 to set up an interview time. Candidates must be available for an in-person group interview January 31 through February 2 at Safeco Field.

Wages:

  • Beginning at $15.00 per hour.

Elevator/Escalator Host

Seattle Mariners Job Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a customer-driven environment preferred
  • Friendly and outgoing personality with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to stand in place/on concrete for extended periods of time
  • Must be available to work 80% of home games (approx. 60 games) including evenings, weekends and holidays

Elevator/Escalator Host Job Duties:

  • Enhance guest experience through friendly conversation and positive body language
  • Monitor and control access to elevator/escalator for safe use
  • Assist guests in finding seat location and help with any additional requests
  • Address inappropriate behavior and enforce Safeco Field Code of Conduct
  • Calmly and politely intervene with guest challenges to find positive and innovative solutions
  • Keep assigned elevator/escalator and adjacent areas clean and free of debris
  • Remain prepared for emergency response to incidents

Event Security

Seattle Mariners Job Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a customer-driven environment preferred
  • Friendly and outgoing personality with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to stand in place/on concrete for extended periods of time
  • Must be available to work 80% of home games (approx. 60 games) including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Minimum age 18 years

Security Job Duties:

  • Provide exceptional customer service by responding to guest questions or concerns and working with guests to understand and comply with Safeco Field security policies.
  • Aid in the safety of Safeco Field by conducting security screenings, bag checks, and metal detector monitoring at all Safeco Field entry points. This work can include bending and stretching to inspect bag contents or to slide bags to a co-worker. May assist in moving tables and entry stanchions as needed for line control.
  • Control and monitor access to restricted back-of-house areas in and around Safeco Field
  • Report all safety and security concerns seen in and around Safeco Field
  • Previous security experience is a plus but not required

Fielders

Seattle Mariners Job Requirements:

  • Friendly and outgoing personality with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to stand in place/on concrete for extended periods of time
  • Previous experience in a customer-driven environment preferred
  • Must be available to work at least 20 promotion games including evenings, weekends and holidays

Fielders Team:
The Fielders Team consists of four sub teams: Promotions, Attractions, Set-Up, and Children's Lounge. All Fielders start on the Promotions team as an introduction to the organization. Advancement is possible for those who demonstrate the following: a strong work performance, flexible availability, ability to take on greater reasonability, and are an embodiment of The Mariners Way.

Promotions Job Duties:

  • Must be at least 16 years old by the start of the 2016 season (April 8th, 2016)
  • Assist with the distribution of promotional items at gates and select areas throughout Safeco Field
  • Welcome guests to Safeco Field with energy, excitement and a warm, friendly demeanor
  • Adhere to rules regarding promotions given to specific groups
  • Lift and move objects up to 35 lbs.

Gate Host

Seattle Mariners Job Requirements:

  • Friendly and outgoing personality with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to stand in place/on concrete for extended periods of time

Gate Host Job Duties:

  • Enhance guest experience through friendly conversation and positive body language
  • Scan tickets quickly and efficiently to ensure consistent entry into Safeco Field
  • Assist guests in finding seat location and help with any additional requests
  • Assist security personnel in addressing unsafe behavior before guests enter Safeco Field
  • Calmly and politely intervene with guest challenges to find positive and innovative solutions
  • Keep assigned gate and concourse area clean and free of debris
  • Remain prepared for emergency response to incidents

Guest Services

Guest Services Job Duties:

  • Provide exceptional customer service by assisting with guest inquiries and challenges, amenity and promo distribution and other general needs throughout Safeco Field
  • Ability to walk long distances in assisting disabled guests to their seats
  • Utilize basic computer skills in logging guest challenges and other incidents

Parking Attendant

  • Friendly and outgoing personality with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to stand in place/on concrete for extended periods of time

Parking Attendant Job Duties:

  • Quickly and safely direct incoming vehicles to their designated spaces within the Safeco Field parking garage
  • Monitor and report vehicle occupancy in your designated area
  • Enforce proper driving and safety procedures within the Safeco Field garage
  • Offer assistance and guidance to guests on where to enter Safeco Field
  • Ability to move quickly to different areas within the Safeco Field garage as guests enter

Parking Cashier

Seattle Mariners Job Requirements:

  • Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to stand in place/on concrete for extended periods of time

Parking Cashier Job Duties:

  • Responsibly handle large sums of money
  • Ability to add and subtract quickly and accurately to ensure proper change is given
  • Greet incoming vehicles with a friendly smile and positive attitude
  • Recognize and properly direct guests with parking passes
  • Total and balance earnings at end of shift with number of passes sold
  • Keep organized to maintain accuracy and efficiency

Retail Associate

Seattle Mariners Job Requirements:

Retail Associate Job Duties:

  • Ability to push/pull/lift 50 lbs. or more
  • Must be able to operate point-of-sale system
  • Utilize basic math skills to count back change and make accurate cash deposits
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe merchandise areas
  • Assist in merchandising, stocking, and maintaining work area
  • Become familiar with Seattle Mariners merchandise and features and relay product information to Safeco Field guests
  • Prior retail or comparable sales/customer service experience is required
  • Ability to work independently in a variety of retail tasks including daily freight replenishment, selling programs, and opening/closing merchandise kiosks.

  • Walk stairs of your assigned section throughout the duration of the game

Ticketing

Seattle Mariners Job Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a customer-driven environment preferred
  • Friendly and outgoing personality with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Available to work 80% of home games (approx. 60 games) including evenings, weekends and holidays between the hours of 4:30 - 10pm
  • Punctual and reliable attendance

Ticketing Job Duties:

  • Quickly learn and retain ticket, team and stadium information to be relayed to Safeco Field guests
  • Utilize basic math skills to ensure accurate transactions
  • Ability to work independently in a variety of ticketing tasks including will call retrieval and ticket selling
  • Enhance guest experience through friendly conversation, positive body language and other customer service practices
  • Ability to work efficiently during fluctuating game day work environments
  • Ability to learn complex ticketing programs and computer applications
  • Support Box Office Manager in handling additional duties as assigned
