ALDS tickets to go on sale Sept. 19
Online sales begin at 2 p.m. ET; In-person at 10 a.m. ET
DETROIT -- There'll be a race going on at Comerica Park in September, whether or not the Tigers are battling for the AL Central.
In a sign of just how close the Tigers are coming to their first postseason berth since 1987, the team announced Tuesday that tickets for a possible American League Division Series will go on sale to the general public on Tuesday, Sept. 19.
The public sale starts at two different times for in-person and Internet sales. The Comerica Park box office will start selling tickets at 10 a.m. ET, followed by the Internet sale beginning at 2 p.m. ET on tigers.com and MLB.com.
Because tickets are expected to be scarce, purchases will be limited to one game of the best-of-five Division Series, with a six-ticket limit per customer. Tickets range from $35 to $110 for the opening round.
If the Tigers hold onto the American League's best record, they'll host the first two games of their series, which would begin either Tuesday, Oct. 3 or Wednesday, Oct. 4, plus Game 5 if the series goes the distance. ALCS and World Series tickets would go on sale at a later date, if applicable.
