DODGERS 20, CARDINALS 6
at Jupiter, Fla.
Saturday, March 8

Cardinals at the plate: Troy Glaus went 2-for-2 and drove in a run. Juan Gonzalez and Joe Mather added run-scoring singles. Adam Kennedy had two hits, drove in three and scored a run. Brian Barton went 2-for-3 with a double and a triple.

Dodgers at the plate: With 20-mph winds blowing out to right field, it was a day tailor-made for left-handed hitters. Delwyn Young hit a moon-shot two-run homer off the second story of the Cardinals' office and clubhouse facilities behind the right-field fence in the second. Rafael Furcal followed moments later with a two-run bomb down the right-field line. Furcal finished 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Matt Kemp went 2-for-4 with three RBIs.

Cardinals on the mound: Braden Looper is usually lights-out in day games, but the Dodgers knocked the right-hander out of the game in the third inning. Looper gave up eight runs -- seven earned -- on five hits and three walks, and left with one out and one on. Ron Villone surrendered four unearned runs on two hits and two walks in 1 2/3 innings.

Dodgers on the mound: Hiroki Kuroda made his third start and gave up three runs (two earned) on five hits in two innings. Hong-Chih Kuo was sharp in a scoreless inning of work. Right-hander Justin Orenduff pitched two hitless innings, striking out three.

Grapefruit League records: Cardinals 5-6, Dodgers 4-6-1

Up next: Anthony Reyes starts for St. Louis as the Cardinals open the two-game "Florida Turnpike" series on Sunday against Atlanta at Lake Buena Vista.
