Twins make first round of cuts
Top prospect Guerra among 12 sent to Minor League camp
FORT MYERS, Fla. -- The Twins made their first round of cuts on Sunday morning and a total of 12 players were sent down to Minor League camp.
Catcher Jose Morales was optioned to Triple-A Rochester. Right-handed pitchers Jose Mijares, who was not in camp due to a broken elbow, and Oswaldo Sosa were optioned to Double-A New Britain. Right-handers Armando Gambino, Zach Day and Deolis Guerra, left-hander Brian Duensing, catchers Jeff Christy and Allan de San Miguel, infielders Alejandro Machado and Felix Molina and outfielder Darnell McDonald were the other nine players re-assigned to Minor League camp.
