Orioles at the plate: In the first inning, Chris Roberson scored the first run of the game on a groundout by Oscar Salazar.
Nationals at the plate: In the third inning, Felipe Lopez took a 1-1 pitch and hit the ball over the right-field wall for his second home run of the spring. In the bottom of the seventh inning, Jesus Flores drove in the winning run with a single to left off right-hander Dennis Sarfate
Orioles on the mound: Right-hander Steve Trachsel pitched six innings and gave up one run on four hits.
Nationals on the mound: Left-hander John Lannan pitched six innings and gave up one run on three hits. Joel Hanrahan pitched an inning without giving up a run.
Grapefruit League records: Orioles 9-16, Nationals 11-18-2.
Up next for the Nationals: Washington goes home and works out at the new Nationals Park on Friday. The Nats play their final exhibition game the next day as they face the Orioles at 6:05 p.m. ET. Washington right-hander Jason Bergmann will face Orioles left-hander Adam Loewen.
Up next for the Orioles: They return to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., to play the Mets on Friday afternoon at 1:05 p.m. Baltimore right-hander Daniel Cabrera will pitch for the Orioles.
