Fans, players and club officials at Comerica Park remembered Fidrych before Wednesday's Tigers game against the White Sox with a video tribute on the stadium scoreboard, followed by a moment of silence.
Fidrych, who became a sensation in Detroit by winning 19 games and dazzling fans during his rookie season of 1976, passed away Monday on his farm in Northborough in what is believed to be an accident. An investigation reportedly is ongoing.
