Spring Training tickets on sale Saturday
Tigers kick off Grapefruit slate with exhibition on March 4
DETROIT -- While the countdown until Spring Training should provide some relief from the winter doldrums in chilly Michigan, the countdown to Spring Training tickets is much shorter. Single-game ticket sales for this year's slate begin Saturday at 10 a.m. ET at tigers.com and by phone.
The game slate of the Tigers' 74th Spring Training in Lakeland, Fla., and their 45th at Joker Marchant Stadium, begins March 2 with the traditional exhibition against nearby Florida Southern College. The Major League portion of the schedule begins with a home-and-home set against the Blue Jays, including a March 4 matchup in Lakeland.
The Tigers will be in Lakeland for 16 of their 33 Grapefruit League games, including visits from the defending World Series champion Yankees on March 10, 13 and 27. Those games could include a visit from ex-teammate Curtis Granderson.
The defending National League champion Philadelphia Phillies come to Lakeland on March 12 and 20. Other highlights include games against the Braves March 8 and April 1, the latter concluding the Tigers' Spring Training schedule.
Spring Training tickets at Marchant Stadium are again priced at different levels according to day of the week and opponents. Tickets for games against the Yankees and Braves, plus all Friday, Saturday and Sunday games, will range from $11-22. The rest of the home schedule are priced from $8-19.
While season-ticket packages are already available, single-game tickets go on sale Saturday at tigers.com, by phone at 866-66-TIGER, and in person at the Marchant Stadium box office.
