Omaha beat Memphis in the series opener at Werner Park. Veteran lefty Doug Davis (6.0 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 3 SO) limited the Redbirds to a solo homer in the second. Tony Abreu drove in all three runs for Omaha. He evened the score with an RBI double in the fourth and doubled home a pair in the sixth. Clint Robinson recorded a double, two walks and two runs while Wil Myers walked three times in four plate appearances.

Yem Prades singled home Sharlon Schoop as the Naturals walked off in extra innings for a second straight night. Carlo Testa gave the Naturals a 1-0 lead with his second homer in as many games. Rey Navarro added a two-run blast in the eighth. Michael Mariot took a shutout into the seventh, allowing a lone run on six hits and a walk over 7.0 innings. Tim Sexton pitched the final 3.0 frames for the win.

A pair of Blue Rocks helped the Carolina squad defeat the California squad in Tuesday's All-Star Game at Winston-Salem. Sugar Ray Marimon picked up the win after a 1-2-3 fourth with two strikeouts. Yordano Ventura worked around a one-out walk for a scoreless fifth. Wilmington opens a road series at Carolina (Indians) on Thursday.

The East squad scored early and often in the Midwest League All-Star Game at Kane County. Cougars pitcher Matt Ridings finished the fifth inning with a strikeout. Kane County's position players did not record a hit (Lane Adams, 0-for-2; Jorge Bonifacio, 0-for-3; Danny Mateo, 0-for-2).

Idaho Falls won a second straight behind a dominant start from Kyle Smith, KC's fourth-round pick in 2011. The 19-year old fanned 11 while limiting Orem to a run on three hits and a walk over 5.0 IP in his pro debut. Julio Aparicio recorded four hits and two RBI. Adalberto Mondesi added three hits and two RBI.

Burlington broke open a 1-1 game with seven in the 10th to win the 2012 lid lifter at Pulaski. Humberto Arteaga and Cameron Gallagher each drove home a pair in the inning. Patrick Leonard, KC's fifth-round pick in 2011, homered in the fifth. Jake Junis held Pulaski scoreless on 5 hits over 5.0 innings in his first official pro outing.
