Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have selected the contract of right-handed pitcher Casey Fien from Triple-A Rochester.  In 33 relief appearances for the Red Wings this season, Fien has gone 2-5, 4.30 (46.0 ip, 22 er) with nine saves in 12 opportunities.  Fien, who signed as a minor league free agent this offseason, will join the team tomorrow in Detroit and wear uniform number 50.

To make room for Fien on the 25-man roster, the Twins have optioned right-handed pitcher Nick Blackburn to Triple-A Rochester.

The Twins now have 39 players on their 40-man roster.
