Omaha settled for a 2-2 split in New Orleans. Davis tossed an eight-inning complete game in defeat, scattering two runs on nine hits and three walks. Mitch Maier and Max Ramirez recorded two hits apiece for Omaha. Johnny Giavotella went 0-for-4, snapping his 21-game hitting streak. Maier threw out a pair of runners from right field while Jason Bourgeois added an assist from left field. The Storm Chasers are at Oklahoma City (Astros) on Saturday.
NW Arkansas Naturals (7-27 in second half, 44-60 overall)

LP: Noel Arguelles (2-11)
Northwest Arkansas lost the first of four vs. Springfield. The game was scoreless until the sixth, when Springfield plated four off of Arguelles (five innings, seven hits, four earned runs, three walks, three strikeouts). Northwest Arkansas scored two runs in the ninth before leaving the bases loaded. Rey Navarro recorded two hits and an RBI.
Wilmington Blue Rocks (18-16 in second half, 47-57 overall)
Wilmington 6, Carolina 2
WP: Brooks Pounders (4-3)
HR: Matt Fields (12)
Wilmington won the first of three vs. Carolina. Pounders (six innings, four hits, one earned run, zero walks, six strikouts) limited the Mudcats to a run in the first. Orlando Calixte tripled home the tying run and scored the go-ahead tally. Jose Bonilla added a two-run triple and Fields smashed a two-run homer. Fields has 12 home runs and 18 RBIs over his last 24 games.
Kane County Cougars (16-17 in second half, 50-53 overall)
Wisconsin 4, Kane County 1
LP: Bryan Brickhouse (2-3)
The Cougars were no-hit into the sixth as they suffered a sweep vs. Wisconsin. Brickhouse limited the Timber Rattlers to one run on three hits and three walks over six innings. Michael Antonio doubled home Danny Mateo for the lone Kane County run in the seventh. The homestand continues Saturday vs. Quad Cities (Cardinals).
Idaho Falls Chukars (17-20)

LP: Spencer Patton (0-5)
Idaho Falls dropped the first of four to Grand Junction. Spencer Patton fanned eight while allowing six runs on seven hits and three walks over five innings. Nic Cuckovich recorded three hits and two RBIs for the Chukars. Ethan Chapman added two hits, a walk and two runs. He has hit safely in seven straight games (.379, 11-for-29).
Burlington Royals (24-8)
Burlington 9, Pulaski 7

HR: Patrick Leonard (11), Mark Threlkeld (4)
Both Leonard and Threlkeld slugged three-run homers in the fifth as Burlington won its 10th straight. Threlkeld finished a triple shy of the cycle with three hits and four RBI. Leonard's blast was his second in as many games. He leads the league with 11 home runs.
Surprise Royals (12-16)
Surprise was off on Friday. On Saturday, they will complete a suspended game from July 4 against the Phoenix Athletics. The clubs will then play the regularly-scheduled game, with both contests taking place at Papago Park Baseball Complex.
