    The San Diego Padres today announced Benito Santiago and Garry Templeton have been elected to the Padres Hall of Fame. The election was made in conjunction with the San Diego chapter of the Baseball Writers Association of America (BBWAA), local sports media and the San Diego Padres front office. Santiago and Templeton will be the 10th and 11th members to be inducted into the Padres Hall of Fame, joining Buzzie Bavasi, Nate Colbert, Jerry Coleman, Tony Gwynn, Trevor Hoffman, Randy Jones, Ray Kroc, Dick Williams and Dave Winfield

Kohrogi comes to the Padres from MVP Sports Group, which he joined in 2014 after spending parts of the previous 20 years with the Los Angeles Dodgers, most recently as Executive Director of Asian Operations. Executive Vice President/General Manager A.J. Preller made the announcement.

    The San Diego Padres selected eight players today on the second day of Major League Baseball's First-Year Player Draft. The 40-round draft concludes tomorrow with rounds 11-40 starting at 9:00 am P.T.

  • Petco Park to host men's college basketball game December 5

    It was announced today that Petco Park will play host to the first college basketball game in the venue's history on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. PT. The San Diego State University Aztecs and the University of San Diego Toreros will compete on an outdoor court to be built on the ballpark's infield, near home plate.
