Dodgers' Adrian Beltre and Astros' Roy Oswalt named National League Co-Player of the Week
tickets for any Major League Baseball game
Roy Oswalt of the Houston Astros, who was 2-0 with a 1.69 ERA, and Adrian Beltre of the Dodgers, who hit .444 and recorded 10 RBI, have been named National League Co-Players of the Week for the period of June 21-27, 2004.

The Dodgers' Beltre tied for the League lead last week with three home runs, while recording an .815 slugging percentage and a .448 on-base percentage. His 22 total bases and 10 RBI led all National League hitters for the week. Beltre also scored five runs.

The Astros' Oswalt struck out a League-best 14 batters in his 16 innings pitched and walked none. He allowed three runs and 13 hits.

Other players nominated this week included: Johnny Estrada of the Braves (.550, 4 doubles, 6 RBI); Milwaukee's Keith Ginter (.550, 2 doubles, 5 RBI) and Doug Davis (2-0, 2.70 ERA, 12 SO); Deivi Cruz (.542, 4 doubles, 7 RBI) and Ray Durham (.414, 3 doubles, 2 triples, 5 RBI) of the Giants; Mike Piazza of the Mets (.478, 3 doubles, 1 HR, 4 RBI); Jason Bay of the Pirates (.320, 3 HR, 9 RBI); Larry Walker of the Rockies (.389, 3 HR, 5 RBI); and Carl Pavano of the Marlins (2-0, 2.57 ERA, 13 SO).
