Giarratano, Vasquez earn Tigers minor league honors for June
tickets for any Major League Baseball game
DETROIT -- The Detroit Tigers today named Single A Lakeland shortstop Tony Giarratano and Single A West Michigan righthanded pitcher Matt Vasquez the organization's minor league player and pitcher of the month, respectively, for June.

Giarratano hit .438 (39x89) with 15 runs scored, seven doubles, a home run, 11 RBI and 10 stolen bases in 23 games for Lakeland during the month. He hit safely in 21 of his 22 games with an at-bat during the month, posting 12 multi-hit games.

Vasquez compiled a 4-1 record and 1.26 ERA (35.2IP/5ER) in five starts during June for the Whitecaps. He fanned 27 batters during the month, issuing four walks and limiting the opposition to a .194 batting average (25x129).
