Noah Lowry wins Bank of America Presents the National League Player of the Week Award
tickets for any Major League Baseball game
San Francisco Giants rookie pitcher Noah Lowry, who was 2-0 with a 1.10 ERA, has been named Bank of America Presents the National League Player of the Week of August 2-8, 2004. Bank of America, the official bank of Major League Baseball, is the presenting sponsor of the National League and American League Player of the Week Awards, which reflect the bank's long-standing tradition of promoting and recognizing higher standards of accomplishment.

The Giants left-hander pitched a three-hit shutout on Tuesday, August 3rd, striking out nine Reds, and defeated the Cubs on Sunday. His totals for the week included 16.1 innings pitched, three walks, 15 strikeouts, 11 hits and three runs, two of which were earned.

Other nominees this past week included: Cincinnati's Adam Dunn (.333, 5 HR, 10 RBI), Sean Casey (.480, 8 RBI) and Felipe Lopez (.400, 3 HR, 7 RBI); Atlanta's Rafael Furcal (.414, 1 HR, 3 RBI) and Chipper Jones (.417, 1 HR, 9 RBI); Mike Cameron of the Mets (.381, 3 HR, 7 RBI); Mark Loretta of the Padres (.375, 3 HR, 9 RBI); Miguel Cabrera (.500, 1 HR, 3 RBI) and Paul Lo Duca (.500, 1 HR, 6 RBI) of the Marlins; J.T. Snow of the Giants (.500, 2 HR, 5 RBI); Brett Myers of the Phillies (2-0, 0.64 ERA, 13 SO); and Roy Oswalt of the Astros (1-0. 0.00 ERA, 8 SO).
