Meijer to release Tigers 2006 A.L. Championship DVD Dec. 7
DVD premiere party benefiting the Detroit Tigers Foundation set for Dec. 5

DETROIT -- The Detroit Tigers, Major League Baseball Productions and Meijer have teamed up to provide Tigers fans with the official DVD chronicling the Detroit Tigers 2006 American League Championship season. This special DVD will be available exclusively at area Meijer stores beginning Dec. 7, 2006.
"Uncaged: The Story of the 2006 American League Champion Detroit Tigers" will be shown at a special DVD premiere party sponsored by Meijer on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006 at the Uptown Palladium 12 Theater in Birmingham. Doors to this DVD viewing party will open at 6:30 p.m. and seating for the 1-hour DVD will begin at 7:30 p.m.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the Detroit Tigers Foundation, the official charity of the Detroit Tigers. Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased by calling 313-471-2052 or will be available at the door until supplies last.
Fans attending the event will receive a 2006 World Series Rally Towel. The 2006 American League Championship Trophy will also be on display and a silent auction featuring unique 2006 Tigers memorabilia will take place from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. The DVD viewing party will be hosted by Tigers radio broadcasters Dan Dickerson and Jim Price. In addition, Tigers pitcher Nate Robertson is also scheduled to appear at the event.
"Uncaged: The Story of the 2006 American League Champion Detroit Tigers" on DVD, was produced by Emmy-award winning Major League Baseball Productions and gives fans the opportunity to relive all the exciting moments from the Tigers magical 2006 season. Narrated by Hollywood actor and Detroit Tigers fan, Jeff Daniels, this collector's item DVD will retail exclusively at Meijer for $18.99. The DVD will be available at all metro Detroit and Toledo Meijer stores.
