Cabrera leaves with pectoral strain
Tigers first baseman hopes to be able to play on Saturday

Tigers manager Jim Leyland said Cabrera was hurt attempting to scoop a throw in the dirt from Edgar Renteria in the second inning. Cabrera was unable to come up with it, and Renteria was charged with a throwing error.
Later in the game, Cabrera began feeling pain when swinging the bat and playing defense. After the game, Leyland said he didn't know if Cabrera would be in the lineup on Saturday.
"Well, I'm not really sure," Leyland said. "I really haven't talked to the trainers yet. I know that it's a muscle, so we're not too worried that it's anything serious. But it was bothering him a little bit when he was swinging. I'll know more [on Saturday]."
Cabrera, who was 0-for-3 on the day with a strikeout, was replaced at first base by Jeff Larish, who started the game at third.
On a positive note, though, Cabrera already was feeling better after the game.
"Right now I feel good," Cabrera said. "I feel better. Hopefully [on Saturday] I will be 100 percent, with treatment, and I'll play."
Cabrera joins Carlos Guillen as Tigers infielders who are listed as day-to-day.
