Tigers announce 2014 Special Events Schedule

DETROIT, MI -- The Detroit Tigers announced today the lineup of special events for the 2014 season, including a tribute to the 1984 World Series Championship team on Monday, June 30. Members of the 1984 World Series team will be honored in a special pre-game on-field ceremony. The first 20,000 fans in attendance will receive commemorative 1984 replica road jerseys, sponsored by Comerica Bank.
Returning special events include: Kids Opening Day (April 6); 20th Annual Negro Leagues Tribute Game (May 24); 44th Annual Polish-American Night (June 13); 4th Annual Classic Car Show (June 14); Christmas in July (July 29); 9th Annual Fiesta Tigres (August 2), and the ever popular Stars Wars Night (September 13). The Tigers will also host 10 fireworks shows, presented by Pepsi on every Friday night from May 23-September 26, weather permitting. Six editions of Saturday Night Fireworks will happen from June 7-September 27, presented by Pepsi, weather permitting. In addition, Sunday Kids Days will return to the ballpark in 2014. Every child 14-and-under will receive a promotional item, free rides on the Fly Ball Ferris Wheel and Carousel, free facepainting, and be able to enjoy Kids Run the Bases following the game, weather permitting.
Individual game tickets for the 2014 Detroit Tigers season go on sale Saturday, March 1 beginning at 10:00 a.m. Fans will have the opportunity to purchase single game tickets at the Comerica Park Box Office on Witherell Street, online at tigers.com, and by calling 866-66-TIGER (84437).
