Garcia has surgery, should be ready for 2014
Hours after team physician Dr. George Paletta performed surgery on Jaime Garcia's left shoulder on Friday, Cardinals general manager John Mozeliak said the organization is optimistic that Garcia will enjoy a full recovery by the start of the 2014 season.

Carpenter could face live hitters soon
Right-hander Chris Carpenter threw an extended bullpen session at Busch Stadium on Thursday and responded well enough that the Cardinals are considering having him face hitters as early as Tuesday. Facing hitters in live batting practice would put Carpenter a step closer toward going out on a Minor League rehab assignment.

Lynn dominates Dodgers for seventh win
The Cardinals rode homers and three RBIs each from Allen Craig and David Freese to a 7-0 win in front of 45,134 at Dodger Stadium on Friday night. Lance Lynn threw six scoreless innings to become the third National League pitcher to record seven wins on the season.

Soccer stars honor Oklahoma victims at Busch
On Thursday -- as Manchester City defeated Chelsea, 4-3, in a soccer exhibition at Busch Stadium -- focus turned to paying tribute to the victims of this week's tragic Oklahoma tornado. The Cardinals and Relevent Sports will donate one dollar for every ticket sold to the game, and both clubs will match the donation.
