Casey Blake increased the Indians' American League Central lead over the Tigers to three games with an 11th-inning solo shot. Rookie Ben Francisco also had a solo homer, which tied it in the eighth inning. The Tribe has now won six straight games.

Jose Capellan's debut with the Tigers was marred by the 11th-inning solo homer he gave up to Casey Blake. The reliever had struck out three of the first four batters he faced, but his one mistake cost him. Detroit is now three games out in the AL Central.
