Detroit could only muster four hits off Carmona, who racked up 10 strikeouts, as the Tigers left Cleveland still tied with the Tribe for first place.

After falling behind, the Tribe took the lead for good with a two-run shot by Franklin Gutierrez. But the real story was Fausto Carmona, who struck out a career-high 10 batters and allowed only one earned run on four hits in eight innings as the Indians won to pull back into a tie for first place with the Tigers in the AL Central.
