Detroit's hopes dashed By Jason Beck / MLB.com
Southpaw Nate Robertson gave a valiant effort in allowing four runs over seven innings, but in the end, he couldn't buoy the sinking Tigers. Detroit scored two runs off Ryan Raburn's single to left in the third, but was otherwise stifled by Cleveland ace C.C. Sabathia, as the current losing streak reached three games.

Casey Blake -- Monday night's extra-innings hero -- came through early on Wednesday with a solo blast to get the Indians on the board. In the fifth, back-to-back RBI doubles by Franklin Gutierrez and Jason Michaels gave Cleveland the lead, which was enough to complete the sweep.
