Cubs face tough road

Geovany Soto attempted to awaken the Cubs' bats from their slumber with a two-run homer in the second inning, but it was another long night in Arizona. Ted Lilly served up a three-run jack in the bottom of the frame and did not make it out of the fourth as Chicago fell into an 0-2 hole in the NLDS.

The Diamondbacks are in firm control of their series against the Cubs after receiving more clutch performances from their young stars. Chris Young's three-run homer erased an early deficit, and Stephen Drew ripped a two-run triple to help make a winner out of veteran southpaw Doug Davis.
