Marcus Thames hit a pair of two-run homers, as the Tigers ended a three-game losing streak. Thames was starting in an effort to give the Tigers an offensive boost. Righty Armando Galarraga allowed two runs in 8 1/3 innings to pick up his fourth victory of the year in a career-long outing.
