Justin Verlander loaded the bases with no outs in the ninth, only to escape unscathed and finish off the White Sox to help the Tigers claim a one-game lead in the AL Central. Placido Polanco drove in a pair, and Detroit used three steals to support Verlander and frustrate Chicago.
