The Royals equaled the Tigers with hits, 10, but not runs in the second of a three-game series in Detroit. Lenny DiNardo gave up two runs in the fourth then got into a jam before leaving in the sixth inning and taking his first loss in a Royals uniform. Mitch Maier had the best night offensively, going 3-for-4.
