Pirates Dynamic Ticket Pricing

Dynamic pricing empowers fans by providing more options during the ticket purchasing process, as well as providing ticket prices that better reflect actual market value. With dynamic pricing, the Pirates can adjust single-game ticket prices in real-time based on ticket availability and changing factors such as league standings, opposing team, rivalries, star players, day of the week, and supply and demand.

Dynamic ticketing for 2014 includes approximately 2,400 seats in the Bleacher Reserved and Upper Bleacher Reserved seating areas at PNC Park. Dynamic ticket pricing can change at any time.

DYNAMIC PRICING FAQ

Q: Which games are subject to dynamic pricing?

Tickets in the Bleacher Reserved and Upper Bleacher Reserved (formerly Bleacher GA) sections will be dynamically priced for every regularly scheduled home game.

Q: Will Season Ticket Holders be subject to this change and dynamic pricing?

Season Ticket Holder ticket prices for their plans will not be impacted. Any additional tickets that are purchased or future game tickets that are exchanged into are subject to that day's dynamic rate. Season Ticket Holders should contact their dedicated ticket representatives or review the 2014 Ticket Exchange Program Guidelines if they have any questions.

Q: Will group tickets be subject to dynamic pricing?

Yes, as ticket prices adjust, group ticket prices in the both dynamic areas will also be adjusted. Prices for group tickets will be determined by that day's dynamic price and any additional add-on tickets would be at the dynamic rate on the date of purchase for those seats.

Q: How do you decide when to raise or lower prices?

We use an algorithm that considers multiple data points to suggest pricing based on market conditions.

Q: Will this change other promotions?

We will continue to work with our partners to offer great ticket deals to fans.

Q: What happens if prices lower after I buy my tickets?

Tickets are always priced based on market demand. While prices typically increase leading up to a game, there may be times where prices decrease should conditions change. As with all of our tickets, all sales are final and refunds will not be issued.

Q: Does this change how I purchase my tickets?

Not at all. Fans will be able to continue to purchase their single-game tickets the same way they have in the past; online through the pirates.com ticketing page, at the PNC Park box office and via phone at 877-893-BUCS.

Q: How do I find out what the price is for a ticket or when there is a good deal?

We will promote the dynamic price adjustments and other ticket deals through a variety of ways including on Twitter @Pirates, the Pirates facebook page, e-mail notifications, as well as pirates.com and other forms of communication. As always, you can visit this page or contact the PNC Park box office for the current prices.
