MANAGING/COACHING CAREER:
In his first season as the Mariners Major League hitting
coach, but his third season as a big league hitting coach, overall...was Los Angeles
Dodgers Major League hitting coach from July 20, 2011 through the end of the 2012
season...began the 2011 campaign as Dodgers big league hitting instructor before being
promoted in July...prior to joining the Dodgers, spent prevous four seasons in the Arizona
Diamondbacks minor league system...was Arizona's minor league hitting coordinator for
three years (2008-2010)...began pro coaching career as hitting coach with the DBacks
Mobile BayBears (AA) franchise in 2007.
PLAYING CAREER:
Hansen played 15 seasons in the Major Leagues, including 2004-2005
with the Mariners...also played with Los Angeles (NL, 1990-96, 1999-2002), Chicago (NL,
1997), San Diego (2003-04)...was one of baseball's premier pinch-hitters, batting .260
wit 35 home runs and 222 RBI...set a MLB single-season record with 7 pinch-hit homers
in 2000 (since tied)...owns LA Dodgers record for most PH in a season (18 in 1993) and
a career (110).
